Palm Springs Pride 2016 in Review

Another Pride in Palm Springs down for the record books. The annual festival began on Friday, however, it’s super gay in this city every day so that’s that. Saturday I ran downtown to check out the stage we were performing on and to support my fellow entertainers. The sunshine was coming down from the skies above so […]

Steven Michael’s Dance Resume

I was recently hired to choreograph a local drag entertainer for a preliminary to Miss Gay America. As I prepared for the job, creating steps and a solid concept with her, I wondered to myself why am I not pursuing this more? I have tons of experience in the industry of drag with incredible connections […]

Heading to Mr. Gay USofA ’15 Nationals

If you follow me here or on social media then you know I’ve been preparing hard for my preliminary contest to take me back to Mr. Gay USofA nationals in San Antonio this November. I got my ticket! I’M EXCITED! I wanted to win desperately but it wasn’t in the cards this round. However I did get my qualifying ticket as first alternate to place my two dancing feet back on that stage at The Saint November 4-6. Here’s what went down in Bakersfield at the first ever Mr. Gay California USofA contest… …

Moving On Up – E.O.Y. Class Of 2014

As the last pieces of pageant gig are put away until next time, I’m able to truly reflect on my recent adventure to compete at E.O.Y. and what it meant to me to be onstage once more. I’m also able to realize what I can accomplish, how others support or do not, and if it’s all worth it at the end of the day. This is my journey to the Entertainer of the Year 2014 contest pageant event. Also known as E.O.Y. Enjoy the read. …

Interviewing Richy Jackson – AUDIO

I love having occasional access to the hottest movers and shakers in Hollywood today. I was able to sit backstage with Lady Gaga’s main man Richy Jackson as he was preparing for a taping of Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition one day last spring. We kiki’d the ki, for realsies. I hit record and what was said became organic and real between us two. We had a lot in common and here’s what we discussed that crazy day inside Glendale Studios. …

CHOREOGRAPHY REEL 2012

I had an Über-productive weekend. My book got needed attention, my body had a great workout and I was able to blog, swim, watch 2 movies (John Carter – horrid! and Chronicle – decent!) and relax, too! However, the exciting production of creating my new choreography reel on iMovie for MacBook Pro was a true highlight. I’ve wanted to get back into dance but haven’t decided to what capacity. I knew a reel of my best choreography would be a must! …

I CHOREOGRAPH (TO) KIM KARDASHIAN

I’ve been procrastinating about doing this for a while as I sat on the choreography running my mouth instead of my feet. I’m not 16 anymore. I’m more like 16 + a decade + eight years + another decade. I will always choreograph, either for someone or inside my head. My passions are dance choreography and creative writing. With four blogs going and my second book in the works, I’ve got the writing covered. …
