Homeless LGBTQ Youth – How To Help!

Every once in a while I like to turn the focus and attention toward serious matters affecting our amazing community of brothers and sisters in need. I received a wonderful email from a sweet girl names Janessa Dayan who works with a truly giving group called Goodshop and Goodsearch. Their company motto is “You Shop. You Save. We Give.” I’ve placed the entire press release here for you to read through. I hope you take the time to check these organizations out. Happy Gay Pride Month! …

Heading to Mr. Gay USofA ’15 Nationals

If you follow me here or on social media then you know I’ve been preparing hard for my preliminary contest to take me back to Mr. Gay USofA nationals in San Antonio this November. I got my ticket! I’M EXCITED! I wanted to win desperately but it wasn’t in the cards this round. However I did get my qualifying ticket as first alternate to place my two dancing feet back on that stage at The Saint November 4-6. Here’s what went down in Bakersfield at the first ever Mr. Gay California USofA contest… …

That’s Right! I’m Super Gay Married.

It’s been two-weeks since my man Jacques made an honest (wo)man out of me. I’M MARRIED! Officially all kinds of gay married, tho. WOW! Where do I start?! Well, once upon a time a shy southern boy growing up in the Bible Belt in Nashville dreamed…. OK, OK! Not that far back! Ah, the memories of my husband and I. They are so fond in my heart, mind and soul. Here’s the story… …

Beyond the Lights – Movie Review

You know the star. She is beautiful Gugu Mbatha-Raw, the girl at the center of the E! scandal with Giuliana Rancic and her deemed racist comments about Gugu’s red carpet hair and appearance recently. And what has contributed to as a possible demise of E!’s Fashion Police. The film is called Beyond the Lights and is about a career-driven overbearing mother played to the bitchy hilt by Minnie Driver, both ruthless and shameless about getting her daughter Noni Jean (Mbatha-Raw) to a successful career…

Two Tickets to Nashville, Please!

I’m trying to pull things together this morning so when I get off this evening I don’t rush around like a chicken with my head cut off. See, my southern vocabulary is starting to find its way back in. Tomorrow we head to Nashville for a few days. And yes, I said “we.” My husband will be getting on with me as I board the silver bird that flies the people across the lands in the wee a.m. hours from PSP towards BNA. I’m thrilled he’s joining me for a meat-and-three and some good southern BBQ. He has never been to Tennessee and seeing my French man in such a simple land will be one true ki-ki. …

Today’s Happenings – Gay Culture Now

OMG! Zayn Malik has left One Direction! OMG! I really, really couldn’t care any less. And yes, it’s the beginning of the end. Hello! Goodbye. Boy bands come and go then come back together and break up again. A few solos efforts will ensue. Not sure if any of them would be strong enough to carry on solo. Harry Styles could because he is the face of the band from what I can tell and his voice is decent. But it is what it is. May the future tribute bands start auditioning for gigs. Boy, bye. And in other news… …

Daylight Savings Times Brings Change

I just finished a day full of updating this web domain and giving it a fresher look. Between deciding what theme to choose and then tweaking it up, I am finally very happy with it all. It should be mobile-friendly and ready for micro formats more so than ever before. It had been over 4 years with the older theme so it was definitely time to do such. This one is easier on the eyes and I tied up broken links, updated content and all that jazz. Since Daylight Savings Time is now upon us…

RuPaul’s Drag Race Premiere Is Here!

For anyone in the know, the new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race premiering this Monday on Logo TV was filmed for almost a year ago! I know this current crop of drag starlets on Drag Race have been chomping at the bit to finally have what they already know has happened, happen for the rest of us diehard fans and newbies on the juggernaut reality competition reaching it’s 7th lap, err, cycle, ahem, season. …

Christmas Las Vegas – Holiday Magic

Picture it. Las Vegas, Nevada. Last Christmas. Now granted that’s not so long ago but I never spilled the deal about our fabulous trip to Sin City during the festive holidays. To follow me here is to know that we love Vegas and Vegas loves us. We have stayed at The Cosmopolitan the last seven (!!!!!!!) times we’ve been to the neon marquee jungle of excess and recess for adults. We see ourselves at few other resorts. No other place compares to The Cosmo. …

Into Another New Year We Grow

Happy New Year! I just came to the realization that I hadn’t posted anything for the new year and I’m seriously shamed about the entire ordeal. Kidding, totes! But I did feel like popping one out on the quick-quick just to catch up for hot minute. Because it has been just that – a hot minute since I’ve been on here! What’s happening in today’s gay culture, primarily mine?! Here goes… …
